I think this temporary tattoo from Julia Pott is hilarious. She is quite a talented illustrator, check out the work in her portfolio on her website.

small magazine
Have you ever heard of Small Magazine? Although it seems like they are on their 6th issue, I just discovered Small Magazine today. It appears to be an exclusively online publication.

'the little zoo' by elizabeth soule
today i want to show off the photography of elizabeth soule. she has a whole series of polaroids called 'the little zoo', which you can see on her website. but you can buy these prints mounted on a 8"x8" wooden frame from her esty shop. i love these images by themselves, but also think they would be a great series of art to have in a nursery or child's room.

de klein zebra
i must introduce you to the most adorable belgium children's shop, de klein zebra. i had a hard time picking just a few items to share, so you should check the shop out for yourself. i especially love the robot pillow.

crack and grow
i have the furthest thing from a "green thumb" ... in fact, recently i've been on a mission to build my own little herb garden in our mud room / laundry room... it has great windows that go up to the ceiling with perfect little ledges and would be great for a miniature garden. i even bought my boyfriend's daughter (who loves to garden or do anything that pertains to outdoors and digging in dirt) a few basil plants for her birthday with red pots (her favorite color) for us to plant them in... they died like three days after we planted them! (i clearly have some gardening issues.) so i saw these nifty little planter things on this really fun kids website called ModernTots. maybe we would have better luck with something like this!

paper + scissors = good [toy] design
[images are from the rag & bone blog]
you can download the cardboy calendar pdf here.
most of the sites i found thanks to the okee dorkee blog.
[to the right] a teeter totter mechanical paper kit, $9.95, from the giant robot online store.
the cannon [creative park] website, of all places, has some really cool paper projects. from origami, paper replicas of famous monuments, cards and even cool patterns to print out your own origami paper.
[above] i love the goldfish and rabbits origami pieces.
[to the left] an example of what one of the pages in the pdf download will look like. you print the pages from your computer (usually onto thicker photo paper) and then you cut and fold along the dotted lines. some are much harder than you probably think!
[above] a bird cage pop-up card and an origami pigeon.
[to the right] i especially want to try making this last one, we have a lucky kitty collection growing in the kids' room.
